New Year, New Home?

First, Happy New Year!

If you’re anything like me, you’ve set some goals or intentions, picked a word for the year, and maybe even started planning how to make some of these dreams come true.

Is one of your goals in the new year a new home? Maybe take on an investment property? There are a lot of things that you can do right now, to better prepare yourself for buying a home this year, let’s grab a coffee and talk.

For now, here are a few steps to take now to help you along the way:

  1. Call Me!!! Seriously, you want an experienced agent on your side to guide you through the process of buying, selling, or investing.
  2. Get pre-approved. Unless you plan to pay cash, you want to make sure that you have a budget in mind. I have several lender partners ready to help you. They can provide estimated monthly costs as well as an idea of what you’ll need for closing costs. It’s important to do this early on so we don’t look at homes that are out of reach.
  3. Save money. You will have several costs while going through your purchase or sale, including inspections, repairs, appraisal, survey, closing costs, not to mention if you want to do any updates to your new home. It’s best to have a small savings bucket set aside for these items.
  4. Start early. Selling it may take longer than anticipated to prepare for the market. Buying? We want to make sure to allow time to find that perfect next home.
  5. Check out the areas. Are you considering one specific area? Make sure to take time to drive around on different days and at different times. Let me know what area you are considering, I may be able to suggest similar areas to look at as well.

As I have said before, you’re considering a move in the world of real estate, reach out. I would love to help!
